CheckAGAIN Technology Will Help County Recover Bad Check Revenue
Herndon, VA
July 8, 2003
CheckAGAIN has announced that Montgomery County, Maryland government agencies will begin using CheckAGAIN's technology to more effectively manage the recovery of returned checks. As a result, Montgomery County expects to reduce the amount of outstanding revenue it is owed. CheckAGAIN will begin implementing its check management services this month.
"Montgomery County has taken a proactive step to more effectively manage their returned check program," said Tim Robinson, president of CheckAGAIN. "CheckAGAIN has developed a customized solution that fits well with the county's business needs and will deliver results that exceed their expectations."
All branches of Montgomery County government that accept personal checks for payments will be using CheckAGAIN's services, including county-owned liquor stores, the Treasury Division, library services and parking services.
Beginning this month, Montgomery County will begin using CheckAGAIN's Electronic Re-presentment service (RCK) and Centralized Returns processing. CheckAGAIN's RCK service automates the process of recovering returned checks by converting returned paper checks into an electronic transaction, which means more checks are recovered in less time and at less cost. With RCK, Montgomery County hopes to recover 20-30% more checks than with other methods.
CheckAGAIN's Centralized Returns processing allows different agencies and offices within Montgomery County to consolidate their returned checks into one bank, even when using multiple depository banks. Centralized Returns will help the county detect bad checks quicker, increase the chances of successful recovery and reduce costly bank processing fees.
